Hail Damage

Repair your roof after a hail storm

Hail damage to shingle.

After a hail storm, people usually check for damage to their cars and other property on the ground. Most people overlook the damage to their roof, gutters, or siding.

Generally, if a homeowner doesn’t notice a leak in their roof they assume everything is fine. But this is usually not the case!

Hail Damage to your roof or gutters is inconspicuous and takes a trained eye to identify.

Leaks caused by hail damage may not appear until years after the storm. By the time obvious signs of water damage occur (i.e. stains on your ceiling) that water has already traveled through the shingles, felt paper, and roof decking, passing into your attic soaking through the insulation and finally saturating the drywall to cause a stain. Now you can see why this could take a substantial amount of time!

At MVP Home Specialists our goal is to help guide you through the storm restoration process, making it a breeze so you can relax and go about your daily lives worry free! We think of storm restoration like an automobile accident: You wouldn’t handle that claim on your own without a professional. Why should an even bigger investment, such as your home, be any different?

Our simple 4 step process:

  1. Identify and document storm damage
  2. Explain and educate homeowner about the possible effects
  3. Meet with insurance company and identify “scope of work”
  4. Restore the home to its former condition or better!

Wind Damage

Repair your roof and shingles after high winds or storms

Wind damage not visible from ground!

Wind damage can happen at any time. Wind speeds at roof level can be 2 & 1/2 times greater than on the ground. This means, if ground level wind is 30 MPH, it could be up to 75 MPH on your roof.

Roofs most commonly damaged by wind have 3 tab shingles on them. The seals on these shingles eventually break down or are lifted apart, allowing debris to attach to the sealant strip. When the sealant strip is compromised, the shingle can’t seal properly and is eventually torn off or creased, drastically effecting the roof’s water shedding capabilities.

Wind damage is not something to take lightly. If you have missing or damaged shingles, you could have a leak your not aware of.

Contact us for a hail or wind inspection. In many cases, we can get you a brand new roof for the cost of your deductible!
